I love the visual aesthetics of these toys. Combined with the political/ satirical/ adult material that you are planning on using, I think the outcome is going to be fantastic. Definelty a 'double-take' effect.
This is the final major project of Joanna Zhou, graduating student in BA Graphic Design for Communication at Chelsea College of Art and Design. It consists of two briefs; one self-directed and one live, both revolving around japanese culture and graphics.
Gashapon Icons
An investigation into the phenomena of culture, taste and collection. Findings will be presented using a functional capsule vending machine, known as 'gashapon' machines in Japan.
Momiji Dolls Designing a set of japanese street fashion dolls for Momiji. Will also be creating the packaging, illustrations, stickers and branding to accompany the series.
